Getting started
How do I create a wishing jar?
Go to Start, choose the jar type, fill in the details, and keep the creator/manage link safe. You can then share the public link or submission link with your people.
Can I create a jar for someone else?
Yes. Use a For someone, Birthday, Wedding, or Fundraiser jar depending on the moment. You can enter the recipient's name and manage the jar for them.
Do supporters need an account?
No. Supporters can open the shared link, leave a wish, and support a fundraiser without creating a WishingJar account.
Managing a jar
Where do I edit my jar?
Use the creator room link you received after creation. That room lets you update details, manage wishes, handle settings, and review jar activity.
Can I hide a wedding date on the jars page?
Yes. Creator settings include controls for whether the event date appears publicly and whether the view page can open before the event date.
Can I delete a jar?
Yes. Creators can delete a jar from the creator settings area. Deleted or inactive jars should not appear on the public jars shelf.
Donations and payouts
What payment method does WishingJar use?
Fundraiser support is handled through Paystack. Naira support is live, while dollar support is marked as coming soon.
How do creators receive payouts?
Creators can add and verify payout account details in their creator settings. Verified account details help reduce payout mistakes.
What should I do if a payment looks successful but the callback fails?
Use the payment reference from Paystack and contact support. We can check the payment status and reconcile it against the jar.
Privacy and trust
Can I make a jar private?
Yes. Private jars can be protected so only people with the right access can view or interact with them.
Can inappropriate wishes be removed?
Creators can manage wishes from the creator room and remove content that does not belong in the jar.
How is donation information handled?
Payment processing is handled through Paystack. WishingJar keeps the operational records needed to show donation status and support the creator.
